Troubleshoot Fing Desktop--Fing will not load or open 4.0

Fing Desktop will not load or open

If the Fing Desktop app does not load or open, first confirm you have the latest version of Fing Desktop. The Fing version number is shown on the top left of the screen.  If you have, complete the following steps depending on which platform you are using:

Fing Desktop on Windows

Check to see if the Fing Application is running minimized or in the background.  You can do this by checking the small icons on the  bottom right side of the navigation bar near the system clock and date information, or by selecting the ^ icon to display the small icons.   If the Fing icon is shown, it is running mimimized.   To make it run in full screen (or normal mode), do this:

  1. From the desktop dashboard left side navigation bar, select your name and display the drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences to display the App Preferences window.
  3. Disable the toggle Start Minimized.
  4. Enable the toggle Launch Fing at startup.

MAC

Check the MAC settings if required permissions are enabled for Fing Desktop. To do this:

  • Go to System Preferences.
  • Go to Security and Privacy.
  • Enable Fing Desktop in the Full Disk Access and Files and Folders sections.

This will load up all features and Fing desktop.
