Troubleshoot Fingbox: Slow or Crashed Network

Will Fingbox slow down or crash my network?

No. Fingbox should not slow down or crash your network.

Fingbox only passively monitors your network. Unless you pause/block devices or use the Bandwidth Analysis feature, Fingbox does not send commands to any device. Fingbox only periodically performs queries about your network status, including ARP, Bonjour, UPnP, NetBIOS, and SNMP.

If you think Fingbox is slowing down your network

Set your Fingbox to a slower network discover. This means your Fingbox will send fewer queries about your network status.

To enable slower network discovery:

  • On Fing Mobile App, click Overview on the bottom toolbar.
  • Click the circular icon with three dots at the top right of the page.
  • This will open the My Networks page. Here, click on the network with the Fingbox icon beside it.
  • Click Close. This will bring you back to Overview.
  • Click the Online devices widget or the blue See devices button.
  • Click the Fingbox icon at the top right corner.
  • Turn on Slower network discovery.
