How to get software updates on Fingbox

Fingbox software updates are automatic on Fingbox. You do not need to do anything to update your Fingbox. Fing will communicate with you regarding significant and exciting updates.

Is Fingbox compatible with Synology NAS?

If you have issues when using Fingbox and Synology NAS, ensure all ports needed for Fingbox are open Ports 80, 443 are usually used by Synology NAS. Change these port configurations so both of these devices can work together.

Check Firmware Version

To see what firmware version is currently running on your Fingbox:

  1. Open Fing Mobile App.
  2. Click Overview on the bottom toolbar.
  3. Click the circular icon with three dots at the top right of the page.

This will open the My Networks page. Here, the number under the Fingbox icon tells you the current firmware version running on your Fingbox. For example, 1.14.17

Force a Fingbox Firmware Update

Fingbox updates are automatic but it can take up to 24 hours to affect your Fingbox.

If you do not have the latest firmware for your Fingbox, check the Fingbox Release Notes and go to the Fing App to check your Fingbox’s firmware version. If still do not have the latest Fingbox firmware, force an auto-update by restarting your Fingbox. To do this:

  1. Disconnect the power socket from the Fingbox
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Plug the power socket back into the Fingbox

This power cycle will force the update.
