Troubleshoot Fingbox: Fingbox Offline

Why has my Fingbox gone offline?

If the Internet is unreachable for over two hours, the Fingbox LED will flash orange. The orange LED indicates that the Fingbox is trying to connect to the Fing software servers, which resolves the issue.

The two main reasons a Fingbox goes offline are:

Internet Outages: The Fingbox is correctly connected to the network and your home Wi-Fi works, but the Internet is down. Internet outages are highlighted in the timeline when you conduct a speed test. In this scenario, check for minor Internet outages with your ISP.

Loss of load-bearing: When this happens, the Fingbox may lose the IP address. This may happen due to either the cable or the switch the Fingbox is connected to. In this scenario, confirm the ethernet cable is not broken. When you restart the Fingbox, the network will reach its full speed, but if the cable is damaged, the speed will drop. This will make the Fingbox go offline.

If the Fingbox LED has been orange for over two hours, see our LED light guide
