Troubleshoot Fing: Device Not Recognized Correctly

If your device was not recognized correctly, do this:

Device Not Recognized on Fing Desktop

  1. From the Fing Dashboard, select Overview > Devices on the left navigation bar.
  2. Select a device from the device list.
  3. Scroll down to Did Fing get it right? and click the No button beside the Thumbs Down icon to display the Device Recognition page.

    The Improve recognition page is displayed. Select Automatic or Manual at the top of the page.

  • Select Automatic at the top of the page and scan the QR code from your device. Alternatively, locate the web address under the QR code; go to this web address in your browser.
  • Select Manual and to enter the product details for the device.

Device Not Recognized on Fing Web App

If your device was not recognized correctly on Fing Web App, do this.

From the dashboard navigation menu, select Devices or select the Connected Devices card.

The device detail for that device is displayed.

  • Select No from the Did we Get it Right field at the bottom of the page to display available alternative devices, and if the correct device is displayed, select it.

Device Not Recognized on Fing Mobile

If your device is not recognized on Fing Mobile, do this:

From the Dashboard navigation bar, select See Devices, and then select a Device to recognize from the Device Detail page.

In the Did we Get it Right field, select the Thumbs Down icon to display a list of possible available devices for accurate recognition.  Select the correct device.
