To change the Network Display Name Using Fing Desktop, Fing Web App, Fing Mobile App or Fing App Controlled Monitoring Unit, do this:
Change the network display name on Fing Mobile App
- Click Overview > See Devices in the bottom tool bar.
- Select Network to display the current name.
- Click Edit to change the name.
If you edit any of the above information, when you return to the main app screen display, you will see the network name change reflected in the network name display.
Note: This operation only changes the custom name you assign to the network on the Fing App.
Alternatively, if you want to change just the name of the device that appears in “Device” tab, simply tap on device (in the device list) and enter a custom name; this will change the name of the device and not the network name.
Change the Network Display Name on Fing Web App
- From the dashboard, select Setup from the navigation bar. The Network window is displayed.
- Select Edit from the right horizontal menu on the Network window. The Edit Network Details window is displayed.
- In the Name field, enter the new network name.
- Select Apply to save the new name. The new network name is displayed at the top of the network window.
Change the Network Display Name on Fing Desktop
- From the left blue navigation pane on the home Dashboard, select Network.
- Select Edit Network Details beside the current network name.
- Enter the desired network name.
