Network View

You can display important network information about your Wi-Fi and network setup from the Network view or the Setup view in Fing Web App.   You can also configure and customize the views.

Select Network from the left navigation pane on the Fing Desktop to display the Network View.

To view network and Internet setup information, from the left navigation bar on the Web App home screen, select Setup.   Network and Internet information,  including network actvity, Wi-FI access point information, network and internet setup is displayed.    

You can change network details by clicking Edit in the top right window.   To send a spreadsheet of network inventory, click Export and then click Send.     To block all new devices automatically, enable the Autoblock option.   Select More on the top menu to customize network information.    Go to Customizing Fing Web for information on using the Customization features.

Network View - Fing Mobile and Fing Mobile App Controlled Agent or Monitoring Unit

  • From Overview, click the Devices widget or the blue See devices button
  • Click the Network tab

Network View - Detailed Information

Information is organized in these categories.

  • Wi-FI Access Points
  • Network Setup
  • Network Devices
  • Internet Setup

The navigation bar on the bottom of the header has links to each section. In the top right corner are the last scan time and the Refresh button, which refreshes the Network page.

In the network header, you can

  • Change the network context (Home, Office, Rental, Public).
  • Edit the network details (Name, Notes and Location Address).
  • View the timeline of network events history.

The header shows the Network location.  Click Edit network details to customize and edit the location address.

From the network page, you can also

  • Enable or Disable the Deep Scan. If enabled, a scan runs weekly on each discovered device, collecting additional details for HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, FTP, and SMB to improve the device recognition.
  • Send an export file of your Network in Excel format to your email account.

Pause/Block Devices in Network View

If you are using the Block or Pause feature, and you are running the desktop app on the primary blocking device, the block and pause section shows the following:

  • The status of pause and block functionalities
  • The Feedback about your block and pause request
  • The primary blocking device

If you are running the desktop app on the secondary blocking device, the section shows the following:

  • The status of pause and block functionalities
  • The Feedback about your block and pause request
  • The current device
  • The primary blocking device
  • The primary blocking device status
  • The button to update the secondary device as the primary

Click Block a Device and Pause Internet Access for further details about the block and pause functionalities.
