After you install and launch Fing, assign the network context to indicate the type of network you are managing, home, office, rental, or public, and whether it is private or public. Setting a context for the current network changes and tunes the checks that Fing performs on it, for example, providing a context of home, office, rental, or public, sharpens the health connectivity checks that Fing runs, and improves network scans.
Some features, for example, Block and Pause, must be used on a private or home network so you must assign the network as Home for this feature to work.
When Fing completes its first network scan, the system prompts you to assign a network context.
Assign the Network Context Using Fing Web App
To show or set the network context on Fing Web App, select Setup from the left navigation bar, and select the Home pull-down menu from the top horizontal menu to display the options, Home, Office, Rental, Public.
Select the context or type of network you are managing.
