DHCP Discovery - Desktop Tool
What is DHCP Discovery?
A DHCP Server is a network server that automatically provides and assigns IP addresses, default gateways and other network parameters to devices.
It relies on the standard Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol or DHCP protocol to respond to device broadcast queries.
A DHCP server automatically assigns the IP address to devices to communicate/connect on the network. Without it, the network administrator must manually set up every device that joins the network. DHCP servers usually assign each device a unique dynamic IP address, which changes when the device’s lease for that IP address has expired.
DHCP provides reliable IP address configuration and Reduced network administration.
