You can manage your networks and device activity from a remote location or a different place from where the network is located. You can manage your network remotely using Fing Mobile App and a Fing Agent, or Fing Mobile and Fing Desktop. For example, you can monitor network activity in one location without having to be physically present, or while you are on the go using your mobile phone. You can get updates, for example, who or which device joined or went offline on your network while you were away.
In this example, two networks are being monitored, B628_ADB0 and VM8019707.
VM8019707 is being monitored remotely by Fing Mobile using a Fing Agent connected at the remote location. Select the remote network VM8019707 under Monitored Networks to show activity.
B628_ADB0 is being monitored by Fing Mobile locally at the location. To switch between the monitored networks, select which one you want to view.

Manage your Network Remotely Using Fing Desktop and Mobile App
To use Fing Desktop to manage a remote network through your mobile app, use this two-step process.
- Sync your desktop with your mobile app.
- Manage your desktop app through your mobile app.
Step 1 Sync Fing Desktop with Fing Mobile
Before you can manage your Fing Desktop remotely using your Fing Mobile app, you need to synchonize both applications so they have the same network information.
To sync your Fing Mobile and Desktop Apps, you need to set up an account. You do not need an account to use the Fing Mobile app but it is needed to use the Fing Desktop app and to pair both apps. Your Fing account will synchronize all the information about your network on all the devices where Fing is running. This is crucial to have everything updated with the correct information.
To sync your Fing Mobile and Desktop App, do this.
- Get or download Fing Mobile here.
- Set up a Fing Account. Select the “Account” tab of the Fing Mobile App, and follow the instructions in the Register section.
- Get Fing Desktop here.
- From your laptop, go to get.fing.com to download Fing Desktop for Windows or macOS. After you complete the download/installation, sign in using your Fing Account.
- Pair Fing App with Fing Desktop. Open your Fing mobile app. It will immediately align with your PC application, and you should see your Fing Desktop network in the upper part of the Home Page.
If the desktop network icon does not appear, you can manually select your desktop network to appear in the home dashboard of your mobile.
Step 2 Manage your Fing Desktop network remotely through Fing Mobile
- Tap on the three-line icon on the Home Page to show the list of networks in your account.
- Find the Fing Desktop network, or other managed networks in the “Monitored Network” area, swipe it (on iOS) or long-press it (on Android), and follow any additional prompts.
Scan option: If your Fing Desktop network is attached when you attempt to manually scan your network on Fing Mobile App, this scan cannot be completed. You can only scan through Fing Desktop. Scanning from the Fing Mobile App is blocked to get a higher quality scan and avoid conflicts. Detaching the network from Fing Desktop will allow you to scan from Fing Mobile App.
