Manage Notifications

Fing provides various types of alerts and content notifications  ranging from network and device updates to emails and content with useful tips for optimizing your network. You can manage these communications through your Profile settings in Fing (Account > Edit Profile).

Fing notifications, alerts, and emails tell you what is happening on your network, for example, a network outage, a new device going offline, or a new device entering your network.  Product and content notifications include a weekly or monthly newsletter, and technical tips and information. Notifications are enabled by default but you can manage or disable them through the Profile settings on Fing desktop, Fing Web App, and Fing Mobile and Mobile Controlled Agents.  

Change or View Fing Alerts and Notifications

To view or change notifications and alerts on Fing, do this:

  1. From the dashboard navigation bar or home page, select your initial and then select Edit Profile to see Manage account page.
  2. Select Notifications from the Manage Account top-level menu to display the Notifications screen.

Region Settings

The top section of the Notifications window allows you to modify your time zone or language for notifications.

Network Alerts

The middle section of the screen lists network alerts that you can view, enable, or disable.

  • Email address for alerts: to enter additional email addresses, separate by commas and no spaces.
  • Email format--you can select a single email for each event or a group email with multiple events.
  • Alert Mobile Notification--enable to receive a mobile alert for each event.
  • Network Insights--enable to receive an email with the latest news and insights about your network.
  • Internet Service Provider--select your Internet Service provider from the drop-down list.
  • ISP Outage Alert--enable to receive an email and notification when your ISP experiences an outage.

Stay in the Loop

The lower section of the screen lists product and content updates that you can select to receive. 

  • Product Updates and News--Select to receive new product feature updates and interesting news.
  • Promotional Offers--Select to receive seasonal offers, discounts, and referral bonuses
  • Recommendations--Select to receive personalized suggestions on networks, devices, and software.
  • Home Tech Distillery - Weekly Newsletter:  Enable to receive a weekly update of tips and news about the world of technology.
  • Home Tech Distillery - Monthly Newsletter:  Enable to receive a monthly summary of the latest news from the Tech distillery.
  • Feedback - Enable to recieve user research and marketing surveys.
  • Beta Program--Enable to get early access to upcoming features and releases.

Manage Notifications, Emails, and Alerts

Fing Mobile and Fing Desktop prompt you to allow notifications when you first download and use the app. If you do not receive this prompt or accidentally reject notifications when prompted, do this to enable notifications.

  1. Open Settings on your device.
  2. Scroll down and click the Fing app.
  3. Turn on Allow Notifications.

You should receive emails from Fing by default on your desktop or mobile. If you do not, check your Spam/Junk folder. If Fing emails are not there, contact support@fing.com

Note: The location of Notifications and Settings may vary depending on your device. Contact your device manufacturer if you cannot locate them.
