Fing Desktop Beta Program
Fing Desktop has new testing functionalities.
To try the new feature, sign up to Fing Desktop Beta program, using your Fing account email.
If you used a third party sign-in (Google sign-in, Apple sign-in, Facebook sign-in), use the email address linked with that account.
A dedicated private community on Reddit has been created for you to share any feedback and interact with our developers and support team. Instructions to join are included in the invitation email you may receive from the Fing team.
Test plan
Different network setups and types of devices may lead to different results. To test the feature, we suggest a few relevant items and a potential test plan that would help formalize the tests to perform.
Network connectivity details that are relevant to the plan:
- Type of router: standard or mesh router
- Model of router
- Number of access points
- Use of Wi-Fi extenders
- Check if Fing Desktop is:
- Connected via Wi-Fi or ethernet cable
- Running on a PC with VPN enabled
- Running on a PC with Firewall enabled (which one)
- Running on a PC with Antivirus enabled (which one)
Relevant tests to perform for the Block and Pause preview

Pause a gaming console for 30m | Open the Device details page of the gaming console, select 'Pause', select 30m | Games won't load new scenarios in the console | After 30m + 2m, the game will resume normally |
Pause a Smart TV/Media player for 30m | Open the Device details page of the Smart TV/Media Player, select 'Pause', select 30m | Netflix or another streaming player won't load new content | After 30m + 2m, the streaming will resume normally |
Pause a Laptop for 30 minutes | Open the Device detail page of the Laptop, select 'Pause', select 30m | YouTube, Facebook and all Internet services won't load new content | After 30m + 2m, the Internet Service will resume normally |
Pause a device for 1h and suspend a PC (sleep) | Pause a device for 1h, and suspend the blocking device in sleep mode | The device should be blocked during the sleep period of the suspended PC | The device should be automatically resumed when the pause scheduled time expires |
