Sign up for Google Assistant
To sign up for Google Assistant, you need to install Google Assistant on your device.
For Android devices, Google Assistant is built-in by default.
For other devices, click here to download Google Assistant. Alternatively, click here to download Google Assistant for all available operating systems.
When you downloaded Google Assistant, Sign-in with a Google email account.
Connect Google Assistant and Fing Assistant
To connect Google Assistant to Fing Assistant, you must link your Fing Account with Google Assistant. Activate Google Assistant by saying 'Hey Google'. Alternatively, go to the Google Assistant app and launch the application; this will activate Google Assistant.
Then, either type or say 'Talk to Fing'. This will activate Fing Assistant.
Once activated, try a simple command such as saying 'What can you do'. This will inform you about the assistant features.
Access Fingbox features with Google Assistant
When you try to access Fingbox features using Google Assistant, Google Assistant will ask you to connect Google Assistant with the Fing Account. Provide permission which will open a pop up to sign in to your Fing account. When your Google account is linked and your Fingbox attached, your Fingbox will automatically be detected by your Google account. You can now perform commands relating to Fing using your Google Account.
Change languages on Google Assistant
Currently, Fing on Google Assistant is only available in English. If you wish to use a different language:
- Add the language from Google Assistant under Account.
- Click Assistant.
- Click Languages and select a language.
Adding Routines
Fingbox support for IFTTT, Zapier and Google Assistant is currently on hold; we are discussing the integration with several partners in the Smart Home integration arena and we intend to resume it along with new functionalities. Pre-existing IFTTT integrations are preserved, but at this time we cannot active new connections and applets.

Activate Google Assistant and Fing Assistant
Once you sign up for Google Assistant with Fing and attached your Fingbox, you can use a range of Fing commands.
Activate Google Assistant by saying: 'Ok Google'. Then say 'Talk to Fing'. This will activate Fing Assistant.
