The Fing Desktop provides at-a-glance and granular information on your network devices at the brand, model, and device type levels.
When you launch the Fing Desktop, the Network Insights window is included as part of the Dashboard display. To display this window at any time, select Overview from the left navigation bar. The Network Insights window shows your devices by brand, for example, Apple, Samsung, and others, and your Devices by Profile. In this example network, six devices are categorized as personal (apple iPhones and laptops), one is categorized as networking (home router), and one is categorized as DigitalMedia (Samsung TV).

Device Distribution
The Device Distribution graph shows Devices By Profile, Device Recognition (Full or Partial), Smart Home Integrations, and Online/Offline Status over time up to 28 days are displayed. Full recognition means that the Device Brand, and Model are identified and displayed. In this example, the iPhone 13 identified by Brand: Apple, Family: iPhone, and Model: iPhone 13, is one of the devices shown as a fully recognized device. Partial recognition means that some of these characteristics are not recognized. In this example, the Samsung and home router are partially recognized. Brand, family, and model are not available for the home router, and brand is recognized for the Samsung but family and model are not available.
Online Status Over Time
The chart below the Device Distribution tracks online status over time up to 28 days. You can specify a timeline graph showing status for a day, a week, or a 28 day period. You can also filter on the type of device. In this example, online status for a week is displayed, and the display is filtered to show only personal devices. Three devices are online from 6 am to 12 noon on the first day, Friday.
Lifecycle and Warranty
The Lifecycle and Warranty window shows a graphical display of the warranty status of your devices. Select Explore from the Lifecycle and Warranty window to display device brand, model and name. You can also mouse over the status column (online) to show the option to check the warranty information as shown in the example below. This will take you directly to the manufacturer's warranty site.
Distribution Insights and Product Classification Displays
The Distribution Insights window shows a breakdown of the distribution of devices by operating system, brand and product family so you can easily understand the makeup of your network. The Product Classification display shows a breakdown of your products by product price, popularity, and market (consumer or enterprise).
Click the Submit a request button at the top right of the page.
